in most 1st world countries, bicycle lanes are put in place to prevent unnecessary road kills, as well as to protect pedestrians too. it is 3rd world countries that allow bicycles everywhere; roads, pavements, parks etc. so, can we boldly claim that this island city is 1st world yet?
