All right. You win in this argument. I didn't do enough research about any local Sinkies who have made it to international news organization before posting my question above.
But speaking of emulating American accent amongst Asians, the Pinoys are the best emulators compared to other Asians. This does not include Asians who were born or grew up in USA or Canada. Pinoyland obviously has the advantage of being a former U.S. colony.
Here's a Pinay, who was born and grew up outside of USA, that speaks acceptable standard American accent. I wouldn't say her American accent is perfect but it's close. Better than true blue Americans from Texas and the deep south who speaks with a Southern Drawl accent.

Here's how the Asiatic pecking order work in America:
1) American Born Asians look down on FOBs.
2) Pinoy FOBs look down on FOBs from other Asian countries (i.e. Singapore, HK, China, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos) because in general they are more Americanized and speak better American English given the fact that Pinoyland was a former U.S. colony.
