Fundamental differences between a condo and HDB flat

I have been staying in a condo for 25 years, and never lost a single shoe or parcel left outside my doorstep or in the shoe cabinet. Contrast this to some of my friends who report that property left outside their HDB units are routinely stolen.
But isn't it a better idea to buy new shoes if they are stolen then to pay guards to guard shoes? LOL
 
Most security guards and security supervisors are wayang hot air monkeys. Out to show off how they stop residents and stir trouble for people by confronting and intimidating them in a group. Most of them are either dropouts from school, or chain smoking idiots or ah nei from Mudlands with a sick attitude.
Becos of this wayang show, most senior guards will orlar junior newbie to go and do the confrontations.
Only certain junior guards with big balls like one of my punting friend, will dare to tell him hong kan do yourself.
 
See lah. These kind of people see what kind of people they think they are and treat people very differently according to their status. I won’t even bother talking to these security officers much since I long know they are 2 faced pattern because they only nice towards me because I am a tutor and nasty to anyone of more lowly professions which I have seen before
There is a 63-year-old woman at my office who is ignored by most of the younger staff. She appears meek, slow, incompetent as far as IT skills are concerned, and is often told off by her manager owing to all of the above. Imagine my surprise when I entered the pantry and saw her scolding the elderly cleaning lady. When she noticed that a member of the senior management was present, she claimed that the cleaner is lazy, slow and was not doing her job to justify her scolding.
 
The operating word here is "some" of the security officers. The guards at my condo are like mice when interacting with residents, but love bullying deliverymen and PHV drivers whom they see as lower in the pecking order to them.
Most or even all guards are like mice with the leesident but play big with outsiders.

Whenever there are cases of leesident to leesident complaints, the senior guards dare not go and always asked my punting friend, a junior newbie to go.

They are scared to deal with leesident like gansiokbin.

Limited access to residents via the access card and deliverymen permitted in by my neighbours, ensure that property left at our doorstep are kept safe. The presence of CCTV is another deterrent; my neighbour has seen video footage of deliverymen who inspected shoes in the cabinet and parcels left by other couriers, before putting them back after noticing the CCTV.
 
The property tax is calculated based on the annual value (AV) of the property; not its market value. The AV is the estimated gross annual rent that may be collected if the condo was rented out; excluding furniture, furnishings and maintenance fees. The IRAS determines the AV based on market rentals of similar condos around Orchard Road.

Is it over crowding of over 10 tenants staying in one house otherwise why wont they shower upstairs?
The culprits are mostly the women who bring their kids to shower in the poolside changing rooms. I only know of 1 unit where younger PMEs stay, owing to the extremely high rental along Dunearn Road.

I believe that these tenants wish to save money by showering at the changing rooms. All the security guards, cleaners and gardeners also shower there before they head home.

Let them be since they want to shower there and more Ang mos who are far more out spoken will question these Indian tenants instead. Likely it’s over crowding otherwise all come downstairs and shower.

The MCST can’t do anything to overcrowding condos and apartments like the People’s Park Complex apartment full of foreign workers staying in several divided partitions in the old apartments there. Don’t know whether it’s the same now or things have improved

As far as my condo is concerned, the tenants are mostly families so there is no overcrowding. That one unit that houses CECA PME tenants numbers around 6 people as far as I am aware, because it is a ground floor unit where the living room and patio are visible from the swimming pool area.
