Why do Ah Nehs live in Condos while Ah Tiongs live in HDB ???

Can we have a compilation of Condo's
and HDB since we are at it?

2) Ah Nehs generally work in IT, Banking or Logistic sector so slightly more upmarket than Ah Tiongs

But where are the hoardes of Ah Tiongs who bring bags of cash to buy properties here? I have come to conclusion the Ah Tiongs own many of these properties which are rented to Ah Nehs... make sense?

Typical Cheena style: Buy big, beautiful house or condo in Bukit Timah, but rent a tiny room for oneself to stay, in People's Park!!!!:D
 
5. the one that takes the cake... they did not come all the way from India to Singapore, to downgrade themselves to HDB!!!
Flats are for the locals first and foremost, and really, if I were working and living overseas be it Hong Kong or New York I would make sure I'm doing well to be there in the first place and I wouldn't see myself living in government housing projects meant for the locals.

I would feel useless and ashamed of myself other than the unintended intrusion.

Guys they are everywhere including expensive landed properties such as Holland Road vicinity. Many work for financial MNCs and they have studied in the US and other western countries.

My understanding of Indian culture does not have face as an issue like us orientals. They are in fact with tight fisted and will have many occupying a small condo. They will also bargain until cows come home. Many have their accommodation covered with packages.

The entry into Singapore for professional and expat packages naturally favours those with English speaking background.
 
There are many rich chinese anyway. Actually tiongs are chinese comeon. Those rich chinese in expensive homes or condos might not even be locals.
 
Ah Nehs want face, Ah Tiongs want money. To the Ah Tiongs, if you have money, you have face so money will always come first.

Ah Tiongs will live in HDB but will buy/rent one or more condo units, divide them into cubicles and sublet them to other Ah Tiongs.
The salary and rent money earn here will go into building/buying more properties back home.

From Loyang to Simei, from East Coast to city fringe, from Meyer Road to Tanjong Rhu, from River Valley to Orchard... every condo i visit they seem heavily infested with Ah Nehs (please note in this case i am not racist, i am merely anti-FT)
 
Yes..i agreed too,the knowledge of English play a v impt part in determining one's expat status.

The Indians expat also hold high posts in the US.

The chinese are as rich as the Indians in other way. They are less seen as profession expat but maybe many has brought condo units. They get rich by doing business themselves n less by working for big corporations...

For condo those rent to Ah Neh most probably they cannot manage to find tenant and the owner need to cover the installment payment. Those rich will not rent to Ah Neh also.
 
Fully agree with TS... Last Sunday me and the wife went to her colleague's condo at East Coast for Christmas party, and all I saw was Ah nehs, Ah nehs and more Ah nehs at the condo's compound... The condo's pool is littered with Ah Nehs having a gathering... In fact it was like Deepavali rather than Christmas..:eek: Asked my wife's colleague how she can cope with staying in a place full of these invaders from Madras.. She told me that most of them were noisy, dirty, and it can get worse during holiday period where it seems like their whole village came down to Spore to pay them a visit...:eek: Her husband has also decided to sell off their condo unit there and moved into their parents HDB flat next year..

Your friend is lucky that these Indian FTs do not defecate and urinate openly as had been the norm in their country since the Great British Colonilaists left them on their own.
But please be aware that there may be soiled pampers floating in the pool..

Normally the real estate agent will try to push for Ah Neh tenant because they are willing to pay the highest rental.

So this attract 3 types of landlords-those who need the monies to service their loans ,those with older/less popular properties rejected by others and new landlords who did not know the ah neh's gonna thrash their unit( the agent not telling).

I have seen Ah Neh pay $3000 for 1st floor unit and Chinese pay $2600 for 10th floor unit (same size, layout, orientation) in the same block.
 
I had even came across 1 indian family of 3, he told me his budget is $2300 for a 3-rm rental flat(he said over the phone so long as the flat is renovated, he'll confirm rent it at $2300 and pay the deposit on the spot), after I brought him to view a well-renovated 3-rm flat, when he realized the landlord is a PRC flatowner, he suddenly says he is only willing to a pay a shocking $1700 for his flat. But that flat is well-renovated. This is a True case that occured recently.

From $2300 he went back on his word and changed to $1700, a shocking $600 less, just becos he realized the flatowner is a PRC.

ok most important thing of all did the prc rent it to him? Yes or no?

Hopefully no.


Anyway most non shit skins and even some shit skins won't rent to other skins so it's all good that these shit skins have a smaller market to choose from.
