This is why you mustn't ever buy a HDB flat on the 2nd floor.

Tables underneath the void decks. Is there any reason why spf/nea has not installed cameras there yet in order to deter troublemakers and smokers? Has anyone had any success with reporting them to NEA WITHOUT photos of the lawbreakers?

General

Context: I have recently moved into a new neighbourhood 8 months ago. I live on the second floor and my unit unfortunately has a roundtable directly underneath it which seems to attract loads of undesirables especially at night due to a 24hr place to eat recently opening up just a stone's throw away.

Main concerns. Noise pollution and cigarette smoke permeating into my bedroom window on every alternate night. I've made many many calls to the neighbourhood police these past few months in order to make them disperse but you know how it is "Yes sirs, sorry sirs. We will keep the noise down and stop smoking." they'll say before doing it again (I can actually listen in on their conversations pretty clearly from my bedroom).

I understand that I can take some extra steps to fend off this problem, for example by throwing on noise cancelling earbuds (which digs into and hurts my ears especially while I'm sleeping on my side) and closing the window (which I hate because of how I prefer to sleep with just the fan on).

Tl:dr I find it insane that I, an actual resident of my hdb block– have to be forced to accomodate people with no common courtesy who probably don't live in the same block that I do. Has anyone who has gone through this before managed to find a more permanent solution to this issue yet? If so please share

Edit: I also think that my recent high bp symptoms might have stemmed from this recurring issue as well.

For those HDB flats which have a parapet on the second floor, there's always a possibility of a jumper landing on it. Can you imagine seeing the aftermath of the mess just outside your unit?

Why would anyone want to live in those shit hole units? The only thing that would force me to live in an HDB apartment would be the fact that I can't afford anything else.

Every HDB dweller wants to upgrade to a house or condo; they just cannot afford to.

If it's just temporary while they're waiting to upgrade they should just shut the fuck up and bear with the slum conditions for the time being.
The complainant knows the solution. Shut the windows and turn on the aircon. If he does not want to spend more on electricity, then bear with the noise and cigarette smoke.

The neighborhood determines the SES types who gather. Work smarter to make more money to afford a better property. Reddit posts cannot increase your income

Mats like to live on low floors. Especially the older HDB flats. They love the corner units of each end of the ground floor, where they can have cats running about.

Is like or bo bian no money to buy higher floor?
Low SES people have far less choices. High SES retirees for example can spend their free time playing golf, on fine dining, shopping, travelling, spa treatments etc. Poor retirees spend the whole day at the coffee shop complaining about the PAP.
