I still think a good short-term outcome is for YSL to appear, accept expulsion, admit wrong-doings, especially running away and being uncontactable, and apologise profusely. Show he has some spine & character. Show LTK was not completely wrong about his character (and only wrong about the extramarital issue, which is not as bad as the whole running away thing).
Good for YSL. Good for LTK/ WP. By not doing that, he reinforces perceptions that LTK/ WP judged his character wrongly... and that can be a long-term problem that will hound any leader.
Of course, powerful forces opposing LTK should make every effort to offer YSL a new start in life overseas, comfort him, in return for not doing any of the above.
