The only problem with HDB is the flat price is to high for many low wage. Those family with gross less tham $3K/month will suffer the most.
Here the calculation.( let say family of 4)
Gross income $3K( after cpf only left $2.4k)
Buying new HDB 4 room flat after susidy need to fork out $200K
Payment 30 year ( monthly about $850 cpf account also not enough to cover loan and need to fork out cash about $250)
Bill eg. electric,phone,internet,water........$200
Transport for 4 people $800/month.
Food $1.2K at least for whole family....
If add in other like education, clothes...... the family will have to borrow from Ah Long San.
