All the surveys by established and respected organisations point to the fact that Singapore is tops in many areas.

The problem with sinkies like yourself is that you don't know how lucky you are. You'd realise it pretty quickly if you spent a couple of years living in a country like NZ where the government is unable to solve the most basic of problems because the country is simply too poor.

Where did these "respected organisations" get their "facts and statistics" from? How did they arrive at their conclusions and findings? Are such arbitrary conclusions correct and reliable?

The lesson here is that there is no difference being an Opposition supporter and a PAP supporter. Whether an Opposition or pap supporter, when you are sick, pap sees you as a liability. PAP wants to make money from your sickness.

In Mr Lau's case, his regret was that he believed the pap that healthcare is affordable and no one will be denied healthcare. Only when he was sick did he know the truth that healthcare is not affordable and he will be denied healthcare.

Last night I had the privilege to meet Mr Lau, a staunch PAP supporter.

Mr Lau is the mid 70s. He had primary school education but was determined and knew that by joining the pap, he wld be able to get many privileges. He lives at AMK Ave 10 and had been a staunch supporter of the pap. When he was young and active, he participated in many pap activities and was accorded many privileges and given many appreciation certificates by the pap. He was influential and had many friends.

Because of his involvement with pap, he got a good salary despite his lack of education. Life was good. His son joined as an SOF regular in the SAF. He praised the pap.

Yesterday, when he met me, he was a man full of sorrows. He had been sick for abt 10years and was not able to be active in pap grassroots. Initially his grassroots friends still kept in touch with him. But as his sickness got worse, they deserted him. PAP and his grassroots friends are no more with him. Now his comfort is his family members

He has been jobless for more than 15years. His son is very sick and is unable to hold a job. He resorted to renting out a room in his AMK flat to get monthly income.

Life is tough for him now. Unlike the days when he was an active pap supporter, he now has to count every cent.

He told me he regrets serving the pap blindly and neglected his friends. He is a frustrated man and have no way out.

He knows now that PAP used him and spoke to him nicely when they wanted him to serve, to reach out and to speak up for the pap. He knows now that the pap used him when he was young and healthy. He now knows that pap dumps him when he is not useful to the pap.

He wished he had lived his life differently.

I appreciate Mr Lau for his truthfulness and his sharing. How many more Singaporeans will face a future like Mr Lau is facing now? How many PAP supporters will regret serving pap like Mr Lau?

is it a coincident that those who are highly against the PAP are very healthy and free of cancer? That is his bad karma of serving the PAP, especially being a grassroot sinkie loser and being stupid.

16. Online gambling ban exemption for two cronies, SG Pools and Turf Club
17. Profiteering from poor, sick, aged Singaporeans

If I did not have first hand experience of the excellence of the Singapore health system I would reserve comment.

However I have personally experienced just how good the system is when I was taking care of my aging parents and their health related issues.

Many Singaporeans in NZ who kept their sinkie citizenship invariably go back to Singapore for treatment should they come face to face with a serious illness. Although NZ healthcare is funded by the taxpayer it takes forever to get treatment because the queues are so long.

People like myself who don't trust the NZ public health system have to fork out a huge amount every month for private healthcare in order to receive prompt treatment.

Private health insurance is a booming business in NZ as a result of an inadequate public health system. I've ended up having to pay twice over because my taxes are supposed to fund my treatment should things go wrong.

The PAP haters are blind and illogical. They simply cannot accept that Singapore is ranked highly by the rest of the world. They question the validity of the figures with no data to the contrary whatsoever.

Even WHO isn't trusted. They'll accuse the PAP of feeding false information without a shred of evidence that this is happening.

If healthcare is so bad and people are left to die then why is Singapore's life expectancy one of the highest in the world?

you've presented info and facts from nz, i've presented info and facts from u.s., others have presented info and facts from canada....in comparison to healthcare cost and benefits in sg, and the conclusion is sg comes out on top. yet detractors will not believe. they need to spend 3 decades in so called 1st world cuntries to fully grasp reality. sinkies live in cocoons and complain about the safety and security the cocoon offers.
