Chitchat Confession Of PAP Supporter

Dear ckmpd, once again, to be fair and credible, you should blame both the PAP and the vast majority of adult Sinkies who voted for them, simply because it:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Takes_two_to_tango_(idiom)
("It takes two to tango is a common idiomatic expression which suggests something in which more than one person or other entity are paired in an inextricably-related and active manner, occasionally with negative connotations.
The tango is a dance which requires two partners moving in relation to each other, sometimes in tandem, sometimes in opposition. The meaning of this expression has been extended to include any situation in which the two partners are by definition understood to be essential—as in, a marriage with only one partner ceases to be a marriage.
")

I would go further and blame those who only blindly voted for opposition parties just because they disliked/hated the PAP for whatever reasons and did nothing else that would significantly help Singapore to become a better place to live in.

If Sinkie opposition parties and their half a million voters are really that good, they should be meditating on the following saying everyday:
The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing
quoteinvestigator.com/2010/12/04/good-men-do

and organizing mass demonstrations and route marches of at least ten thousand people all over Singapore (especially all the HDB Estates, in order to ensure that the vast majority of Sinkies hear the leaders speak and, more importantly, see their brave actions, i.e. route marches) at least once every month until Singapore truly becomes a much better place to live in.

Unfortunately, the hard truth is that Singapore has been the way it has been for half a century simply because even the voters (most of whom are probably men) for opposition parties are cowards. :(

And as I've said before, the even more cowardly opposition voters (at least 100,000 (at least 4% of the total valid voters) of them who voted for some opposition party at GE2011) flipped and voted for the PAP at last year's GE:
sammyboy.com/showthread.php?236371-Confession-Of-PAP-Supporter&p=2522911#post2522911
why dont you just show one of them?
Last year's GE results already showed that at least 100,000 GE2011 Opposition voters flipped and voted for the PAP, which I've already explained to you only two days ago for at least the second time, so now it's at least the third time:
sammyboy.com/showthread.php?236261-Collection-of-PAP-s-Misdeeds&p=2522016#post2522016
I think it's safe to say that between GE2011 and GE2015, more Sinkies became much more knowledgeable about the PAP, and yet what was the result?
Or if you think there was a miscount, does that mean the opposition parties failed in their double-checking last year?

As I've said before about two weeks ago, at least 100,000 (that's about 4% of the eligible voters) GE2011 opposition voters flipped and voted for the PAP last year:
sammyboy.com/showthread.php?235838-This-Is-Terrible-and-Horrible&p=2515882#post2515882
I have never taken part in such a useless way of rebelling/protesting, whether at Hong Lim Park or anywhere else.
And the GE2015 result is the proof:
sammyboy.com/showthread.php?216301-VALID-Opposition-votes-for-GE2011-was-803-482-but-654-289-(ex-TP-GRC)-for-GE2015

I dare say that at both GE2011 and GE2015, at least roughly 45% of the valid votes were from women, and at least another roughly 15% from male civil/public servants (including regulars in the SAF and Police), male employees of GLCs, and old men in their 60s and 70s.

And for GE2015, the remaining 10% came from new citizens, ignorant/delusional/cowardly/greedy male Sinkie first-time voters in their 20s, and finally at least 100,000 (at least 4% of the eligible voters) male voters who voted for some opposition party at GE2011 but flipped and voted for the PAP at GE2015. :*:

You dont know abt healthcare costs until you are sick.

What kind of medical insurance do you buy? What kind of illnesses did it cover? How much coverage do you get?

How much did you pay annually

I bought life, term and hospital insurance for myself when I was a young working adult. With my small income as a fresh rookie, I only forked about $250 a month. Needless to say, they were cheap coverage. As I made more money over the years, I gradually upgraded the plans and paid more. Now, I am paying about $5000 a year. I haven't adjusted my coverage plans for years.

Please do not demean pioneer citizens like Mr Lau.

Firstly, he is in his 70s. Was there medical insurance like what you bought 50years ago? Do you know what kind of health care the PAP provided for SG citizens 50years ago? The demographics and situation when Mr Lau was young is different from what you are experiencing now

So please dont shoot from your hip if you dont know what you are talking abt and dont admonish Mr Lau

There is medical insurance decades ago. It isn't exactly a new fad.

My experience with most people is that they dislike listening about insurance and coverage. They are too lazy to think seriously about themselves, say they are too busy with work to listen and they spend more time giving excuses on why they can't afford even the cheapest coverage plan. The truth is that they are either too lazy to think, too stupid or simply too stingy to part with that money. Most sinkies think that as long as they can't collect on the insurance in the near future, insurance and protection is basically a total waste of money.

These are the same bastards who later on demand free or token payment for their long-term medical treatment when they finally fall sick due to their bad luck or old age.

there's a need for a single thread to combine so many boliao threads on healthcare cost in sg in comparison with the rest of the 1st world to put this matter to rest. otherwise, we have to keep pulling out evidence, proof and stats to refute half-truth allegations, again and again. it's getting tiresome and boring.

ok, here's a sample bill from a u.s. hospital for 6 days of hospitalization (2 days int & c, 4 days semi-pr) plus procedure. hmo and ppo insurance typically cover only 80% of the bill. you can imagine the net sticker shock after insurance pays out majority of the tab.

compare the above with hospitalization in sg. the sg gov grant and local health insurance policy take care of the bill 100%. gov grant takes care of majority of bill while insurance pays the remainder. it pays to sign up for a healthcare insurance policy in sg. high cost of healthcare is always there, and it should be itemized and properly reflected as true cost, but there's little to no net sticker shock like one faces in the u.s. where out of pocket or net payments can range from $10k onwards for a few days of hospitalization to hundreds of thousands to millions for prolonged icu stay, semi-pr warding, extreme procedures and pharmaceutical prescriptions.
