Ah Yat @ Turf City (old Bukit Turf Club) not the best but not bad too. Daytime dimsum and night-time seafood. It's not far opposite Equalisation house.

You are probably referring to Red Star. Agree - everything old there. There is another tim sum place that serves pretty good stuff. Used to be at Asia Hotel or Hotel Asia at Scotts Rd. Now next to Bras Brasah Complex. Serves authentic HK tim sum.

Yep, good lunch crowd and top quality dimsum items which are only made ala-minute (upon ordering). Saw Richard Yong - ex-NKF as he's one of the directors there.

I think it is known as Asia Grand or Grand Asia.

The best dim sum is in Hong Kong lah. Ingredient is the most important thing for dim sum. To get the authetic taste, they have to be procured from South China area.

yap.... just like best prata is from India... duhhhh!

Who says HK and South China Sea must be best? Only Ivebert and GMS (finally something they agree upon). Cheap and good to-go (take-away) dimsum at small shops along SF Chinatown Stockton Street. For eat-in dimsum restaurants, Kearny Street (still within Chinatown) all the way to North Point. These are all done in classic traditional tastes. Too bad Eatshitndie informed that North Sea Village at Sausalito has closed. Guangdong cities also have something matching if not better than HK. Hunan and Guangxi cities offer dimsum dishes in a different style, but not bad too. However, dimsum in HK, PRC and US cities are never served with chilli sauce as-a-matter-of-factly. You'd have to ask for it, and see if they have it, and sometimes pay extra for it.

restaurants at sausalito...

If I recall correctly, the big white one is an Irish restaurant, my ex-boss' favourite whenever he went to Sausalito. Great view and great food too.

it's the horizons restaurant, specializing in seafood based on california cuisine. it was originally built for the sf yacht club. great view from the deck.

Yes, that's the one. During my time there, my ex-boss told me that it was owned by an Irish American. That's why I always refer to it as an Irish restuarant. Good food, great view and atmosphere. Not too expensive too.

"Li Lee Hwa" n "Kum Loon"(not kum LAN) in HK, nee tun dao! U still can see push-cart service at "Yum Cha" at smith street...last time, there was 1 dimsum shop at jalan besar. Food was economical n tasty, always go there after mahjong session on the wkends!
