Not worth la got criminal record next time hard to migrate.
Back then NSFs kena charged more than 40 days cannot go to local Uni.....not sure if this is the case still.
Seen many got to go overseas to study or put uni entry on hold due to this fucked up ruling.

That's kinda stupid considering u have ex convicts from changni prison getting into nus law.

Criminal record check does not include and reveal SAF record. Its is from the Police only, so if you want to immigrate, it will not show up . And also if you are JW, u can claim religious persecution and claim refugee status in some countries, as a refugee from political persecution.

From my understanding when martial law overlap with penal code then there's criminal record.
ie SG criminalize drug addicts.....soldiers go DB for drug consumption offense....am sure these DB inmates will get criminal records.

In my time, the SAF and Police database was not shared. If a NSmen entered DB during NS for some offence including drug taking, its on his SAF record and he RODs without an honourable discharge. But it is not passed on to create a SPF record. He has to arrested by the SPF in the civilian world to warrant a criminal record.

Guards at DB are very picky. They wouldnt let a 2LT in until they checked his authorisation letter.
