Quite true... I have a few Chinese colleagues who hate to be called by their Hanyu Pinyin / dialect names. One even got married to a Northern Indian (he's fair). Maybe the percentage you gave is a bit too much but you still have a fair and valid point.

He shud step down in my opinion. Leave with his head held high. History already dictated that he's a well-respected opposition. He has nothing else to prove. Someone replacing him might not even have the same calibre or able to hold a candle to his legacy, not even his wife.

The prob with the opposition parties is that once the GE ends, they disappear or go back to doing their own thing. Only when the next one looms near, will they then appear again. As a Hougang resident, even though I hate to see the sight of that Eric Low fella with his smug face, one can't help...

Doubt so lah... Based on yest's ST report when they say the economic outlook still looks cloudy, I doubt they wanna call for an election soon. The earliest would be in Dec. But if I'm not mistaken, we're supposed to elect a new President this year right? Anyone can confirm?
