I've crossed the Singapore-Malaysian border and Malaysian-Thai border quite a few times "without formalities" whether out of convenience or necessity. I'd "rectify" the formalities later. Beside Mas Selamat case, there was Took Leng How case. Those were high profile cases. There're many more cases not publicized.

One example in point, how do you think Indonesian contraband cigarettes arrive in Singapore? By passing through customs? Zzz...

Now they do. No secret they download their stuff up north then return via the two checkpoints. Info was given from a major supplier to 'stalls' in Geylang. With your connections in Geylang, easy to verify what I said.

My, my, nowadays even informalities got formalized. That's news to me. I've been avoiding Geylang areas since late last year when I bashed up a PRC fucker real silly and bloody with a beer bottle. Once I got news that he returns to PRC and case closes, then I'll return to Geylang.
