I think for some they mistake people responding negatively to their totally biased one sided prejudice as racism because they happen to be of visible minority.
Put it this way. If we are having a discussion in a predominantly white class who are conservatives and I start calling them rednecks and insulting conservatives and painting them all in one broad stroke as evil and what not and the other participants (mostly white cos they are majority ethnicity) start to get angry with me and then scold me and rebutt fiercely, and maybe even throw me out for being disruptive I could say they are being "racist" because of my skin color.
Hello? Anyone who behaved like an asshole would be thrown out regardless of color.
I dont pain CCP or China supporters as evil. I disagree sometimes but I dont call them cocksuckers and what not. It is insulting to them and has no bearing on discussions.
Do I dislike left wing? Yes I do. Are all people who support liberals bad? No. But we have strong difference of opinions.
Do I call them communists? No.
In any case I find it disconcerting that someone who calls himself a staunch liberal left wing socialist would prefer to live and work in Singapore a predominant right wing conservative capitalist country.
You have the right to choose. If you lean right, so be it. And usually, at least when I was there, we could all at least discuss it openly and calmly. Even if it meant the country was polarized and divided - you at least had the space and ability to do so and vote accordingly. In Singapore - well you know.
When I was there I remember one state/province was much more red and another blue. Cities tended to more blue, but suburban and less densely populated areas tended to be red.
If this person is indeed a staunch liberal left wing socialist I wonder what happend? He sounds like he's about to get on a plane and worship at the altar of Xi
