However is just a straight stop, ABS prevents locking up the tires, which increases stopping distance. Non-abs can lock the tires which will stop you far sooner.

If tyres are locked, braking distances increase because dynamic friction is less than static friction.

For a non ABS equipped car to stop in a shorter distance than an ABS system, the driver must avoid locking up.... something most drivers cannot do in a moment of panic.

This is true only on a wet road surface. What I'm assessing is that due to the ABS, the vehicle could not slow down fast enough as anticipated by the driver in order for him to negotiate the turn. Hence, he loses control and smashed onto the road barrier before hitting the tree. Anyway, if he was sober and quick thinking, he should have downshift his gears by a few steps via the "paddle-shift" on his steering wheel prior to negotiating the turn.

That's why I'd still prefer to drive a manual gearbox vehicle where one can have better control of traction. Once I was in Italy going downhill on a slightly snowy road. By manually downshifting the gears on several occasions, it had saved me from losing control and falling into a ditch.

I've driven an ABS vehicle before and sometimes, you could feel that it actually increases your braking distance on a dry tarmac (when compared to a non-ABS vehicle) due to its automatic ON/OFF braking actions.

Photo shows the fatso's head cracked open to show part of his brain. He died tragically, hardly peacefully. Better to drive carefully and arrive in one piece than sped like demon and died with half a brain.

Didn't see that photo...but it shows the kill must be instant one..horrible.

luckily i dont pass ECP that often... about once or twice a year.

It's good you don't travel there often.

Whenever I do, I do so with extra care.

Trust me, if any wondering spirit is looking for 'new life', ECP is one good place for them..

Fatso himself is responsible as his body weight caused the car weight shifted to his side....

Centrifugal force + shifted body weight + small car is disaster.

Wrong lah!! It won't happen to most of us because we don't drive like that idiot!!

i was referring to the passenger, if you do not have a car, or in foreign land, someone you trust, offer you a ride, will you say NO? most unlikely, a mistake and that is the end, can happen to anyone. The passenger have no control, happen so fast, they do not have time to say, please ride carefully.

it is true , it happen so quickly, they do not know what happen. It is very sad to all in the car.

Depending on individual belief.

In this case, personally I don't think the dead would rip.

Cos they were killed in shock and tragic manner.

Some of these souls may not even realise they were 'dead' and keep hanging around that spot as spirits...

Penalty for causing death due to reckless driving is a joke in spore.

Refer to “Former bus driver jailed 3 weeks for causing death of professor’s wife” (March 25) and “Driver who ran over two boys sentenced to two weeks’ jail” (Jan 27).

In addition there shoud be law to automatic override car, life or accident insurance payout if found due to speeding cases.

Responsible driving? Drink, dun drive? Alots of bulls**** here in spore.

rumours he was drunk driving, his model gf was working in hfj.
imho, it seems inappropriate to post the pictures of the passengers in the vehicle. they are innocent.
our local media bo standard, sometimes happy they post, sometimes not happy they dont post. protect the identity is bullshit.
