There is no doubt about Ms Swift's musical talents - simple tunes & lyrics that appeals to many Humans. She is also attractive, kind, generous & sophisticated.
In truth, there are many, many fellow Humans whom have such gifts, but what makes her special is not just her talents or attractiveness, or marketing skills, it is the X factor.
3. X Factor - Musical Extravaganza/Spectacle
China with a market of 1.4 Billion has its Mdm Han Hong & wondered why she is not as popular as Ms Swift.
Language is one thing but they did not realize that NO ONE will sit thru 3 & a half hours in a concert just listening a singer sing, unless the singer/guitarist is a living legend like Keith Richards...
It is the Musical Extravaganza, - the stage sets, the audio system, the flamboyantly dressed dancers, the props, the fireworks, the special singer-audience interactions that endears, etc, etc, that fills the auditory & other sensorial emotions, hyped & heightened up almost close to mass illusions that makes one feel as if in a great party & not alone.
In this age of social media - youtube, spotify, etc - the competition for ears is intense. Thus many entertainment agents & performers realized - concerts are the way to bring in the market share & revenue...if one knows how to....
