Do not know how true, but one of my my Eurasian family friend told me they have a 15year's+ fruit cake in their freezer compartment; which was passed down from their grand aunt.Occasionally they would bring it out and add
some liqueuers onto it to maintain it's structural stability..![]()
Several years ago, an elderly lady said that she will bake a batch of rum and brandy flavoured fruit cakes, use a few a year, and freeze the balance. In subsequent years she will add more rum and brandy.
I have tried some of her fruit cakes.
