The parrot at first predict spain and then holland, so which is which....

Bro. Parrot first predicted spain for the spain-germany match, which has come to pass.

But it chose holland for the spain-holland match.

So now it's a war between the sotong and the bird.

From Freaky Gossip:

The Parakeet (Parrot) Mani from Singapore had reportedly picked up Spain as the victor against Germany in the quarter-final. The parrot also forecasted right victors for all quarter-final matches, said by Mani’s master Mr Muniyappan.

According to Yahoo News, the owner of the feathered oracle said Mani correctly predicted the outcome of the World Cup's four quarterfinal games and Germany's defeat to Spain in the semifinal game.

Bros Dodomeki / po2wq.

Thanks for e info.

Somehow I already had a feeling that Spain will win the World Cup even b4 their match against Germany. Uncanny.

Looks like all my life savings has to go to Spain already.

However, the ball is round.

Even Paul the Octopus got make mistake for Euro 2008. And it always predict when Germany is involve in the match. This time different.

The belief in Prophet Paul's abilities is commonly known as gambler's fallacy. Wikipedia has an excellent write up on it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler's_fallacy

The gambler's fallacy can be illustrated by considering the repeated toss of a fair coin. With a fair coin, the outcomes in different tosses are statistically independent and the probability of getting heads on a single toss is exactly 1⁄2 (one in two). It follows that the probability of getting two heads in two tosses is 1⁄4 (one in four) and the probability of getting three heads in three tosses is 1⁄8 (one in eight).

Now suppose that we have just tossed four heads in a row, so that if the next coin toss were also to come up heads, it would complete a run of five successive heads. Since the probability of a run of five successive heads is only 1⁄32 (one in thirty-two), a believer in the gambler's fallacy might believe that this next flip is less likely to be heads than to be tails. However, this is not correct, and is a manifestation of the gambler's fallacy; the event of 5 heads in a row and the event of "first 4 heads, then a tails" are equally likely, each having probability 1⁄32.

While a run of five heads is only 1⁄32 = 0.03125, it is only that before the coin is first tossed. After the first four tosses the results are no longer unknown, so their probabilities are 1. Reasoning that it is more likely that the next toss will be a tail than a head due to the past tosses, that a run of luck in the past somehow influences the odds in the future, is the fallacy.

Other than octopus who are prophets, the most common observation of gamber's fallacy is at the baccarat table when the hands streak banker or player. This will immidiately attract a horde of gamblers who bet large sums of money in the belief that because the table is steaking, there is an improved chance of banker/player occuring.

NETHERLANDS V SPAIN MATCH FACTS
• This will be the seventh all-European final and means that a European nation will win the tournament for a record 10th time.

• It will be the first final to not include one of Brazil, (West)Germany, Argentina or Italy

• Netherlands go into the final unbeaten and if they are victorious on Sunday, they will become only the fifth side to register a 100% record in WC finals so far, joining Uruguay in 1930, Italy in 1938, and Brazil in 1970 and 2002.

• The Dutch also had a 100% record in qualification for South Africa and could become only the second nation ever to win all their qualifiers and finals games, after Brazil achieved this feat in 1970.

• The Dutch are now unbeaten in 25 successive international matches and have conceded more than one goal in only one of their last 14 games in World Cup finals tournaments (1-2 v Croatia in the 1998 third-place play-off).

• Spain are the first reigning European champions to participate in the World Cup final since West Germany in 1982 and are the 12th different side to reach a World Cup final.

• If Spain - who have seven goals - are to avoid becoming the lowest scoring winners of all time, they will need to net at least four. Italy (1938), England (1966) and Brazil (1994) all won the tournament with 11.

• Xavi has created 25 goalscoring chances in this tournament - eight more than any other player. He has made 560 passes at this tournament, completing 509 so far. Only Dunga (Brazil 1994) has completed more in a single World Cup tournament since 1966.

If Holland lose, they'll become the first side to lose three Finals without winning the Cup. Hungary and Czechoslavakia are the others on par now with Holland having lost two Finals without winning the Cup. Brazil, Italy and Argentina had also lost two Finals, but they won the Cup five times, four times and twice respectively. Only Germany lost more Finals, four, but they won the Cup thrice.
