Control crowds in trains, buses

<!--replace --><SCRIPT type=text/javascript> var fontIndex = 2; // var fontSize = new Array("0.63em", "0.69em", "0.75em", "0.88em", "1em", "1.13em"); var fontSize = new Array('0.63em', '0.69em', '0.75em', '0.88em', '1em', '1.13em'); </SCRIPT>
I read with interest that the Singapore Civil Defence Force is controlling the crowd at Mustafa Centre. But nothing is being done to prevent overcrowding in public transport vehicles like trains and buses, which are often packed to capacity.

Passenger safety is at stake should anything happen when trains and buses are crowded, especially during peak hours.

Shouldn't there be a head count to ensure that public transport vehicles are not ferrying more than the allowed number of passengers? Letter from Chua Peck Lan

Buses and MRT are all jam-packed during peak hours. Extra torture when people fart !!:o
