NZ is a blardy cold country with plenty of scenic landscapes, sheeps & little else. No laksa, no chicken rice, no turtle soup. Are you sure Sinkies can survive in such harsh envoirenment? The only plus point is that NZ qualify for the WC despite of having a slightly lesser population than Sinkypurr.
Cold? You gotta be kidding! I'm sitting in 30℃ Auckland heat as I type this. The deep south can get cold in July/August but anything North of the Bombay Hills is beautiful weather even in the depths of winter. It's like an air conditioned environment without the associated costs.
Laksa, Chicken Rice etc are all readily available. Kiwibird7 will tell you more. He's a food connoisseur. I'm not.
Casinos, Karaoke, Lounges, Bars, FT whores throughout all the major cities to those who can't do without their fixes. Drinking joints operate till 5/6 am in the city centre.
Water sports throughout the year.. jet skiing, water skiing, fishing (deep water / fresh water / stream / rapids.) It's a fishing paradise. I know Singaporeans who spend a month or more fishing in NZ every year.
Golf! Thousands of golf courses throughout the land. Dirt Cheap green fees. Beautiful golfing weather throughout summer. Wetter in the winter months but still great golfing.
Motor sports... hundreds of events annually on great circuits.
What exactly are your interests? I'll point you in the right direction.
What exactly is your definition of "harsh"? You don't have to live in the trees or the forests. There are enough houses here for everyone and I'm not talking about pigeon holes.
