Long ago when we first had the Thais coming to Singapore to seek a living in the construction industry, they couldn't believe that this fast developing island also has fat rats living in the gutter. It was god sent, and free! They hunted these rats and skewered them for dinner. Some die because our rats are more potent than their padi field rats.

Tonychat's countrymen grew wiser, and realised that our rats are not similar to theirs - he realised that he shouldn't be calling anyone with a moustache his papa. Now the Thais set up their own provision shops and supermarket to sell proper food. There are no Thais to hunt the rats now. So the rat population boomed.

Tonychat should well remember what Lee Kuan Yew has always said, "Nothing is for free in this world".

• Pay a small token of COE before you can buy a pet
• Pet shops are monitored closely
• Law for inappropriate handling, housing and cruelty to animals
• Birth or id cert and death cert are made compulsory
• Policing system to monitor pets' movement to check irresponsible abandonment

Cats are irritating. I tried to kill a couple of them two weeks ago. I only managed to catch and kill one. They're super quick by reflex, that has to give it to them. But irritating is irritating, can't kill two, kill one also count one.

The thread starter is an absolute moron. Teenagers and schoolkids scratch and vandalize far more car boots and windows than cats.

Spastic dog owners who let their dogs shit on the grass patches and at the road kerbs without using a plastic bag to scoop up the mess contribute far more to pollution than cats. Cats always bury their waste, and that includes urine. Only dogs don't. Get your facts rights. When living in a dense urban area cats never use waste to mark territory. Only dogs do.

As for cats stealing food look at your own family members first. Most of the food you leave on the table are not palatable to cats, especially feral cats. Unless of course you leave tuna fish wide open on your front porch. Cats are afraid to jump into houses because they are enclosed environment that contain smells and sights not familiar to them. Unless of course you leave your front gate wide open all the time which makes all animals, both cats and dogs, think your house is open to visitors.

When dogs barks too much owners gets to be dealt with. But when cats fucks around and fight around no one knows who the belongs to because AVA did not make cats wear tags. Were is your PAP dog tag? Huh?

AVA is not responsible nor is PAP law.

In Hougang, WP MP Yaw Shin Leong has embraced the new AVA directives and is working hard with volunteers to educate cat owners about responsible ownership. He meets cat welfare society and has been working with them too to address the stray cat issue. Mr Yaw also advocates sterilization and cat adoption in place of culling, which is an enlightened policy in line with AVA philosophy towards stray animals.

You don't understand law. When you've come up with statement to satisfy it, you're not guilty. Those people who who're arrested and charged for killing dogs and cars are simply...they don't know what to say.
