The average Singaporean will fuck over others even if it means it will fuck them over eventually because a gain now is always better.

The whole reason why housing is so insanely expensive is because all the policies are designed to keep wealth with the older population for as long as possible because if they don't the government has to admit that the housing policies was wrong. That is why there is no change to anything in the last 20 years. Just keep making houses more expensive so that people who have homes think they are getting rich.

Housing at 35? Yeah, either you find a hole to creampie when you are young or you spend your entire 20's fighting for autonomy from your parents with nowhere to go. Renting is even worse when half the landlords here act like petite bourgeoisie. Expecting tenants to work 16 hours a day, don't exist in my home and no guest. Like why no just dump all the 20 to 30 year old single and horny people into one room apartments blocks beside each other in a giant block like uni dorms. NUS have orgies in their dorms, why not have giant orgy HDB blocks. I'm sure the birth rate will really start jumping and give people the option of trading two units for a bigger 5 room flat. Better yet, why not put these single apartment homes in the middle of the city like at Rochor, Chinatowm, Tanjong Pagar or anywhere in the city, all these places are going to be taken by DINKS with no kids because there isn't even schools in the city.

Like imagine how much sex people can have if they can head down to nightlife, go to events in the city or just hang out at third spaces in the city and it cost so cheap to stay and travel. Leave the suburbs for families. All these would make sense but it will fuck up the housing market for old people. Poor Ah gong, who is going to buy his overpriced HDB flat and pay for his retirement now?

That's why life is so shit, we all enact polices to support the old people at the expense of younger people because we simply assume being young has no challenge
