Re: 3.40AM his hardrive was accessed remotely!!
Because too many suicide cases here. If every case must treat like murder, then police force need to double in size liao.I can understand why the Todds were upset that the HD was accessed but not by forensic experts.
I can also understand police would want to take away any evidence, HD included, to verify if there was any info on them to support a murder, or a suicide.
Imagine if a person wanted to commit suicide.. but found it hard to write.. typing a note and sending it out via internet email might be a faster way. or posting on FB. These actions would leave "footprints" on the pcs or laptops. Taking the HD was logical to me.. but not having a forensic expert to access it sounds funny.
Furthermore.. whether it is suicide or not.. with suicide note or not.. I thought it would be logical to check for fingerprints to see if ANYONE else came into the house or was at the scene. I mean.. even if all looks fine.. checking for fingerprints doesn't hurt.. it might even produce evidence.. no?
The most weird thing is, why wasn't the stuff that was used to commit suicide (the towel or strap) tested for DNA? Seems like a laspe in procedure. I would have thought that you go through the steps, go through the motion to follow through procedure.. to ENSURE that all has been done.. even if nothing was found on the items.. you would have no one to say you didn't do it.
Now.. it seems that the ppl who were supposed to do their jobs.. seemed to have miss some simple procedures. Or is it because there was a huge spike in foreigners committing suicide... and therefore.. their reaction was "aiyah.. another one.. sure confirm suicide.. no need check liao" ??
Either way, this is a wake up call to the ppl in vital positions.. don't slack. Why have we been seeing so many instances of ppl in vital positions seeming making mistakes.. especially when most of them are very well paid individuals too???
