Bad news. Among the parties, SDP, SPP and RP are the ones most driven by a single personality.

You can be sure that if KJ resigns from RP tomorrow or the Chiams leave SPP, both these parties will go into oblivion immediately.

For SDP, if Chee goes tomorrow without any rhyme or reason, the time taken to oblivion will be longer but it will get there.

Talking about HDB resale flats prices (a market phenomenon) and CPF minimum sum matters (a 50:50 matter, some may prefer the interest earned in CPF) are not root problems. Talking too much on this is just whining. The root problems are policies behind these. Doesn't mean if a party does not voice your favourite complaints, it is not doing its job.

To say people should vote for PAP is anti-Opposition.

I used to support WP but now I am losing confidence on them. If WP still remain silence on bread and butter issues, then I believe their shares will fall in next GE. Maybe Aljunied GRC will return to PAP after a short 5 years

Despite their limited number and time in parliament, the Vichy WP eunuchs continue to waste that precious opportunities talking up small issues like bird-droppings and bird-singings. At that time you still had a colonial govt which was prepared to defend the right of legislators to say whatever they wanted. A similar parallel could be made with HK: due to the longevity of the colonial government up till 1997, legislators of whatever stripe could say whatever they wanted without fear of reprisals, and due to the legacy left by the ex-colonial master that pattern remains in HK till today.

It is a pity that people who invoke history are unable to put the proper context to their points.
