Save the cyclist! Ban cycling on roads!!

Those motherfuckers only asking for special lanes on less used roads like rifle range, changi coast etc. too much for you?

I feel that it would be in the best interest of auto-vehicle drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists; if some of the roads in Sg were to have lanes for cycling.

I don't think any sane person would want to cycle onto the expressway, or any sane individual would want cyclists in crowded places like Orchard. But in neighbouhood or ousing estates, I feel that it can be considered.

One advantage of putting up a lane especially for cycling is that they can then tell cycling entuhsiasts to go for basic traffic rules.. to understand and learn.

With a lane on the roads, pedestrians might have less worry about cyclists whizzing past them and worrying about accidents. And lanes could be designed such that only one bicycle can ride on the lane at a time.. and not side by side, as I had seen on some roads recently.

Furthermore, with a bicycle lane, any auto vehicle driver who does knock into a cyclist can then have not so many excuses of not seeing or noticing them.

It is, imho, a win-win situation for all three parties concerned. (leave out the govt... they don't seem to offer any good ideas or suggestions).

I stay in the east, and in Tampines, where there are bicycle lanes sharing the pedestrian footpaths.. it is quite chaotic at times. Pedestrans walk on the bicycle lanes, and cyclists go onto the footpaths.. it's like they don't care. And with no one to tell them, it's like the bicycle lane is non-existent. Then why have it in the first place?

One more point on putting forth a bicycle on the roads is that.. it might make parents more wary of allowing younger children cycle on the roads. Imagine if you want to cycle, you HAVE to go onto the roads.. would you allow your 11yo kid to do so? (even if the kid did go for basic traffic rules knowledge)

Allow cyclists to ride in parks (make sure the place has space for them), but I feel that for proper use of bicycles, the roads should be the way to go.

in small island like sentosa, motorcycle is not allows.
In small island like singapore i trust bicycle should not be allow on the road as well
bicycle is not suitable for fast pace singapore..unless lim chu kang farm area

This case is about a hit and run of cyclist along mandai road, not shenton way or geylang. Any time of day mandai road sees very light traffic, just like any suburb roads in Europe or USA. The problem is too lenient punishment for reckless driving. So Why are you going on about banning bicycles for entire country?

I have seen cyclist cycling double-file on the left most lane.

You give them 1.5m and they will take the whole damn left lane. :oIo:

Hello you know your highway code or not?
Even traffic policeman will tell cycle 2 abreast
and not 3 !!!

Another example of typical clueless and selfish sinkie driver. Anyway it doesn't matter if cycle in single file or double file, the motorist will still need to change lane to give adequate clearance. I guess some people just find changing lanes to be a greater hassle as compared to killing another human being.

And I have rarely seen cyclists doing double file on busy roads. Mostly only along lim chu kang, yeo chu kang etc.

singapore got no land to build 1 more land for cyclist.bulid 1 more land for cyclist, then the handsicapped will request for special land also

Cyclists are a bunch of deluded selfish pigs. No doubt about it. They disregard the fact that the country's roads are too congested for their shit bicycles. It's a ME MYSELF and I attitude with these prices.

Nowadays, I always look forward to hearing vehicle accidents being reported on Sinkie radio channels and hopefully more Sinkie drivers will die from these vehicular collisions. These drivers are selfish, self-centered and snobbish. I totally have no sympathy for them.

Who says building extra lane? Why do you need all eight lanes on lim chu kang road for vehicles? Six lanes on mandai, four lanes on changi coast. Just need to carve out one lane for cycling will do.

You are just another thick skull sinkie who thinks that after paying road tax, you deserve every inch of road network.

ban cycling on roads?

where the hell they going to get organs for transplant?

one dead cyclist can give life to many person who actually want to live and treasure their life, rather than risk danger on singapore road. They think this is country side of france?

Then we can safely assume you are some spandex wearing retard cyclist. There are numerous sports beside cycling.

That's like saying anyone who does not go to NUS is illiterate. How old are you? Probably older. You sound like those old bitter men who are suffering from midlife crisis. Probably fat and need to cycle to work that shit off your tummy.
