Criticisms against policies is a form of feedback to the govt to consider if there is a need to change or amend a policy.

For example, after decades of criticisms against primary 3 streaming, the govt amended its policy to streaming at primary 4. After years of criticisms against EM3, the policy is amended to drop EM3 classification.

So criticisms are constructive as they point out the flaws of a certain policy so that actions can be taken to remedy the flawed policy. Opposition parties and the public can't change the policies of PAP, so they offer feedback in the form of criticisms.

SDP posted article on falling SG dollar. We all know that. Can the SDP form some solution to raise the value of the dollar beside protesting?

The article is for general information.

Falling SGD has its good and bad sides. When SGD continues to strengthen, exports will be hit hard although a stronger currency helps to dampen inflationary pressures. Falling SGD will give manufacturing some breathing space.

Replacing the words in the above quote, SDP with Alu862 and PAP with SDP, can anyone see the parallels? Classic case of pot calling the kettle black.

what does that have to do with anything? the country belongs to ALL of us, not chee, not harry, not pap, not sdp, to the people, not just political parties. The question is, what have YOU done for our country?

One cannot earn the respect of his peers if all that can be offered is the same refraining jabs. Constructive criticism would be more than welcomed. Of course this should not be applied to the present regime as they were never in for fair play at all. So they are game.

And what have you done? Chee has done protests while he should create part policies that attract voters. Do you think SDP's fall in votes is totally The PAP's fault? Then you are disillusional

Then perhaps you should ask him why? Or at least analyze why he is doing what he is doing. You are not stupid, neither is Dr Chee, and he's got a PhD to boot.
Grousing here won't work. Seek the answers yourself. No one is going to spoonfeed you.

Anyone can get a PhD. But it takes someone to form a political party with proper policies to win over the votes and NOT JUST PROTEST

Good job, your analysis is almost there. Now here's a hint: whatever made you think he is after results of the ballot box kind?

His protests won't win him support. Only policies that appeal to people will. He should resign and be a private citizen protestor

Why didn't you go and help Chee?

If you had attended the recently concluded SDP dinner you would have had a much more clearer picture of what he is trying to achieve, that the party is becoming more of a movement, than a political campaign, and that what he has set in motion so long ago, is finally garnering results.

Here is an excerpt of the speech he gave that night, where he received a standing ovation from an audience numbering close to 200. The voice quality isn't that clear but i suppose a transcript will be out soon, so in the meantime, just strain your ears a little to hear what he has to say.

Lets see the PAP censor this
