SDP did not deify CST in the past. If you have won a seat, and your supporters chanting your name, I can understand. Same for JBJ and LTK.

But Dr Chee hasn't won anything. Yet the supporters within the party are chanting his name like he is God's gift to Singapore. Every rally I hear the Ah Soh on the stage repeating the same line :

"Dear voters, do you want to see Dr Chee in Parliament ?"

"Dear voters, who is the most qualified person that should be in Parliament ?"

She is not a secret admirer anymore. She is opening declaring her star admiration for Dr Chee, and she is using the the rally as her personal platform to confess her admiration for Dr Chee.

This whole exercise cheapens the SDP brand, and undermines Dr Chee as a serious candidate.
