Talking about shit, Singapore's Pulau Semakau will be filled up by 2040 and Singapore needs to find another 250 hectares of island to replace it. Already we have several incineration plants which in itself is not a good solution. Incinerators have met with public resistance in neighboring Malaysia and Indonesia, and have been banned in the Philippines because of perceived health risks.
Yet Singapore continues building more and more, and we are suppose to be a clean, green and super-efficient country. Singapore's unique rubbish headache stems from its small size and high population density and the government despite knowing the problem insist in increasing our population. Pretty soon the SHTF as 2040 will be 2030 if the population growth does not stop.:(
