Now that Sylvia has found her true love, she will be less fiery in Parliament and less time to argue

Workers' Party (WP) chairman Sylvia Lim and former soccer hero Quah Kim Song are a couple.

Ms Lim and Mr Quah - known for his fancy footwork as Singapore's star striker in his Malaysia Cup heyday - confirmed on Saturday that they have been dating for about six months.

Ms Lim, 48 and single, told The Sunday Times that some mutual friends had coaxed Mr Quah to sing at the WP's variety show, Bricks In Blue, in January. "We became close after that," she said, via email .

The former football star, 61, not only sang Simon and Garfunkel's El Condor Pasa at the concert but also danced with Ms Lim on stage.

I know a lot of guys in this forum will be heart-broken now that she is spoken for. :)

Good luck to them both.

Asked what they shared in common, she said: "We enjoy our food, drinks, music and sports."

Asked how he feels about dating one of Singapore's most prominent women politicians, Mr Quah said: "I know her as Sylvia Lim, and not Sylvia Lim, chairman of WP. We are enjoying our time together and hope to be together for a long time."

At 61, i am not sure how he can expect to be together for a long time.

Ho Peng Kee and Mah Bow Tan won't be too pleased with QKS for chasing skirt of WP chairman.

QKS - blast from the past. He reminds me of a period when in Singapore locals could achieve greatness. No need for FT, no need for super high minister pay. That we are all in this together. That we could compete and beat the Malaysian team. But yet we repected our brothers from up North. Fast forward 30/40 years and we are told FTs are the solution and Singapore team with its FTs no longer connect with the locals. There is no longer that Kallang Roar, where all TV sets were tuned to a game.

QKS could very well remind the older folks that at one time, we locals could achieve greatness. That the Singapore DNA could come up with a winning team. That we are not second class to some FTs parachuted into Singapore.

Quah Kim Song, Dollah Kassim, Rajagopal, Mohtar Dahari Shukor Salleh

What is the point of billion dollar stadium and Youth Olympics when it seems that we have lost the mojo to create that home team.

I was very heart broken when Kim Song was spoken for.

That old fox!!! But I am surprised he tying himself down again!!

They are not saying that they are getting married. They are in a relationship that's all.

Then again, I think there's nothing more foolhardy than marrying a lady lawyer who probably knows the women's charter inside out.
