Don't how-seow ok.... Geylang lorongs are arrange in odd and even numbers OK... U mean an injured chicken can run across the busy Geylang Road without being run over?

Geylang got chicken (real chicken farm)? Damn, I must be damn young. The first time I caught a chicken was when it crossed Bendemeer Road from old farm side (now Bendemeer Pr. Sch.) to the HDB side. I grabbed it and asked my uncle lazing around the coffeeshop smoking, what to do with it. He said, bring it upstairs to your grannie and ask her to teach you how to kill it, then come back down here to call me when dinner's ready; if your dad's home, ask him to cook it; your dad's cooking skill is best.

Looney must have meant Toa Payoh. Today there're only 8 lorongs in Toa Payoh. I heard there used to be 10 lorongs. Lorongs 9 and 10 became what's now known as Potong Pasir Avenues 1 and 2, something like that.
