For some reason, I feel the borrower is the cause of this behaviour. The bank can't loan money, relatives won't lend money, friends make themselves scarce, then Ah Loong comes and help out a stranger, who DOES NOT honour the loan. What else is the loanshark to do? The only way to stop these acts are to end the borrowing.

2)Loan money to Hang Flower in HFJ.
3)Loan money to pay bills.

Ah.... suggest Ah Longs take an insurance policy against bad debt. That way, the insurance companies make good the Ah Long's losses. Eh, Gahmen, please enact a law that makes all Ah Longs take up insurance plan for their business so they don't have to resort to arson and harassment of innocent folk.

Police considered this in the 90s. Decided not to prosecute borrowers as they wanted these borrowers to come forward as PWs if need be. Unlikely to change their stance. Borrowers who permit the ah longs to use their bank accounts are taken to court currently.

This will be an ELECTION ISSUE. The PAP Govt has not provided basic peace and security to innocent Singaporeans.
All the PAP is interested is to collect TAXES from the 2 Casinos, high ERP prices, high stamp duties for property purchases.
