"Our Home Team is now conducting mass recruitment exercise, MPs are public figures, they are elected by the people,
they have a service to perform and therefore they must be accessible and approachable.
Therefore we have to set up a major security operation every time an MP is out doing his work."

If one is ever so angry to seek revenge, its by winning in the polls(or helping the opposition parties' candidates to win by volunteering or by attending their rallies).

43.4% of the total voters, have walkover constituencies. so how to vote for those folks??

The process of recruiting candidates for public office is not easy; its long and tedious, and you, as the recruiter, needs a skin similar of a rhino, because you will face a lot of rejections and people going back on their promises- for many personal reasons, in which you cannot reject or criticise for long term reasons.

So while the obvious answer is to state that the opposition parties must contest 100% of all the seats, its easier to say it, than to do it. Still, the opposition is doing its best considering the limits of their resources that they have. But if they are recruiting a lot more than the last election 3 years ago, then that's progress.

Hopefully this current recession and the resulting scandals- and outside incidents(not of the financial kind, more like national security) will raise more questions and doubts within the hearts of more Singaporeans. If more of us don't fall for the spin, and realise change is needed to keep the PAP on their toes, and be accountable, transparent, and be nicer genuinely, then they may start wanna increase the share of votes, and the number of seats that the opposition now have.

Raw but perhaps quite true
in the hypocritical world of disbursing monetary "entitlements" and "benefits" to the poor, disadvantaged, and elderly for political points and propaganda, there's danger and risk of disenfranchising the bozos and rambos in the lunatic fringe. it's all or never. either give to all, or never start the charade. the raging freaks who feel marginalized and left out will strike with vengeance, sometimes for a buck or two. street bums would kill each other over a loose penny in the gutter. that's how desperate one gets when down at the lowest level. let this be an object lesson for the men in white. don't think you can get away with a dog and pony show. people's lives and dignity are at stake here. push too hard and phony, and the desperadoes will burn the house down.

The state media is now busy spinning stories about Seng Han Thong's 70-year-old asssailant, painting this incident as an isolated case of a lone deranged man, and not becos of growing public anger and outrage with govt policies which turned Singaporeans into 3rd class citizens . These are what is reported so far:

1. He is a mental case being admitted to IMH a couple of times.
2. He committed this act because he is upset about not getting the $200 hongbao, and not because he was denied of any financial assistance by the MP.
3. The assailant is a loner wierdo, and neighbours do not know much about him.

Do you all know why they are spinning this tale that Seng Han Thong's assailant is a mental case?

So that they can commit him into IMH for life without the need to go to trial to convict him. If they convict him in court, then this old man may spill all the beans out on what Seng did to him, and it could be damaging to the party, especially when election is rumored to be near.

So with the help of the state media, they are making the assailant out to be a nutcase, and then put him inside IMH for the rest of his life with the keys thrown away. Then the public will not know what the MP did that drove this old man to want to harm him in this manner.

Remember Boon Suan Ban case against ex CJ Yong.

Lui Tuck Yew ( typical PAP elite- scholar, fast tracked military career to rank of general eqv and then co-opted to be politician) said in Parliament "it was disappointing " that many of the online comments on the event was "unhelpful" and "unkind".

However instead of seeing the comments for what it really is i.e a refection of the unpopularity of the tyrannical ruling family/party, he "rues lack of self policing ".

It is clear as daylight that MP Seng HT is seen as a symbol/representative of the ruling family/party and all these online attacks are an indirect attack on the highhandedness and extremely unpopular policies that have caused sufferings to many citizens.

The fact that the ex-cabby received 200 votes and Seng only 56 votes (of sympathy) reflects the real sentiment on the ground.
Singaporeans should be brave enough to vote accordingly in the next election-78% to opposition and let's see what will happen to the ruling family.

The Lees will be the first to run road, many hidden worms will come to light and scare all Singaporean. Be prepared to tackle all the individual worm as they start to crawl out. That is why they put Lee Xian Yang to head the CAAS.

Dirty Harry already say, the Army will take over when we have "Freak" results to safe guard our reserve.

Ass Loon will personally lead the SAF on a military coup.

If that happens, there will be a civil war. And many "V"s will emerge
