my point is the present living condition of would be couple marrying here in spore especially with the high cost of living here in spore(note i am not encouraging people from marrying)they must be prepare financially if not one can forsee alot of problem which can stress them out..e.g one on my nephew got divorce just after one year because of $matters another friend son whom i attend the wedding 2yrs ago just got dirvorce..i am sure there may be many cases here too if you go and check it out at the family court
another point is giving up some freedom like...ok just an example
during my bachelor days i can do whatever i want or go to whenever i want to go with childhood friends to places like clubbing/ msia/philipine/china/aust/NZ/thailand/HK another problem may arise at the hawker centre

Bro,some of the things that i have say is to add a bit of humour in stressfull enviroment...food wise of course i know what she wants but lets be honest women can be very picky about what they want to eat at times..in fact we were in penang last week and whacked whatever we can eat over there especially the durians:p...all i can say is it can be very tough for the poor young couples wanting to get marry and have kids in spore just look at the absurd price of the pigeon hole now compare to 20 or 30yrs ago..for the rich they want to have how many wife or gf is none of my business..

i agree with u... but think about it... when we were their age, we also thought the cost of living was high. but then, we managed to survive.

it is a cycle for young generations to get married and have kids... we went thru it thru thick and thin, now it is their turn...

in 1980 the gov relocate us and our cousin to a 3+1 HDB at haig road and eunos at a cost of $30k,lagi best seaview with a loan from HDB at a cheap $280 mthly installment..in 1982 a childhood friend bought a pigeon at marine parade $70k(i heard HDB has stop giving out loan,pigeon hole buyers have to get loan from bank provided the bank approve it..how about the young married poor sporeans will the bank approve???)

in 1995 got married i wanted to buy a 3+1 at eunos at $245k but was outbid at $250k..bought a private pigeon hole at changi and in 2003 move to my present private pigeon hole in the east where you can hear the MRT rumble.

in between 2008 to 2010 3 PR break the world record price of between $700k to $900k for a resale pigeon hole at queenstown/bishan/ and i think marine parade..in 2009 wanted to downgrade and buy a 3+1 at either eunos or haig road asking price eunos $400k and haig road at $395k all non neg!

my reasoning is why is the HDB or GOV not stopping these greedy speculators from speculating on public housing which are meant for poor or lower income sporeans in need of roof over their head..

i have a son and like any dad wanted to see him get married and have kids but in spore now it is a very VICIOUS CYCLE for young and poor generation to get married and have kids..yes we have gone tru thick and thin now is their turn much more thicker and thinner
