As I predicted, the MCE is a roaring success. When it comes to infrastructure development, the PAP is the best government in the whole wide world.
Where are all the govt critics now??? the silence is deafening.![]()

SINGAPORE: Traffic on the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) was generally smooth during the peak hour on Monday morning despite the wet weather.
January 6 is seen as the real test for the new expressway as most people return to work after the holiday season.
Eastbound motorists travelling on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) through the MCE to East Coast Parkway (ECP) had a smooth journey.
Traffic was also moving well in the opposite direction.
However, some traffic slowdown was observed along some parts of the ECP towards the MCE and along Nicoll Highway.
This could be due to the normal peak hour traffic volume and also the wet roads caused by Monday's morning shower.
A congestion point previously seen at the exit to the eastbound ECP where the MCE splits into ECP and Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) has also eased.
Professor Lee Der Horng , a transport researcher with the National University of Singapore, attributed the smooth traffic to better signage put up over the past few days to guide motorists.
Prof Lee believes motorists are also becoming more familiar with the changes in the road network.
On December 30, traffic snarls plagued Singapore's latest expressway on its second day of operation.

Roaring success my ass. It took a whole damn week to get it right, and this, only after making changes based on the ideas from the motorists. Those idiotic road engineers from LTA needed ordinary folks to tell them that a sudden switch from four lanes to two lanes is definitely a no-no and also wrong signages at wrong places. The road engineers ought to put a paper bag over their heads in the public as they ought to be damn ashamed.
All projects have teething problems. However, I suspect that the mistake the LTA made was to rely on local engineers to decide on the signage and the slip road capacity. This made things a lot worse.
They should have brought in foreign talent to oversee the entire project and things would have started off on a much smoother note.

KNN, open for 1 week nia, so YAYA PAPAYA say it's "massive engineering feat". KNNBCCB, operate 1 year then say first. Obviously, PAPPIES does know what is call 'engineering feat'. Nichol highway collapse is engineering feat.
