根據《太陽報》報導，馬克西當時為了減肥參加真人秀節目，而他也成功從209公斤的圓潤身材，轉變為95公斤的陽光型男，成了該節目的減肥冠軍，不但抱走高額獎金，還和另一名參賽者凡妮莎（Vanesa）相識相戀，不久就攜手步入禮堂，還生下一名女兒瓦倫緹娜（Valentina）。
