基隆市正濱國小一名王姓男童今天下午到資源回收室，由於房間無法打開，便從一旁的隔間破損小洞進入，未料一入內立即掉落6、7公尺深坑洞，救出時意識不清，全身多處擦傷。

校方表示，學校每週二和週五會請學生協助資源回收，下午3時許，就讀六年級的王姓男童與數名同學一同前往資源回收室，由於回收室以木板隔成兩間，王童將鑰匙插入其中一間但無法打開，便從隔壁房間進入，經由破損的木板隔間進入回收室。
未料，疑似近日基隆下大雨，回收室地基遭雨水沖刷淘空，地面大面積塌陷約有6、7公尺深，加上室內昏暗，王童穿過隔間一腳踏入便掉入坑洞，一旁學童聽見哭喊聲，立刻向師長報告，師長到場一開始還以為只是房門無法打開，沒想到一開門驚見大坑洞，隨即通報消防救援。
基隆市消防局獲報立刻派遣中正分隊出動2車5人，由小隊長楊培宗帶隊，從後方涵洞進入搶救，並以長背板將王童救出，王童救出時全身受有多處擦挫傷，意識不清，王童父親接獲通知也趕到學校，陪同兒子至基隆長庚醫院治療。
