When your brain suddenly pops up the Rick Jason name, i believe it's becos you found it interesting that in Combat, there's an actor with 2 forenames for a full name or maybe you have friends called Rick & Jason & you're making that interesting connection to the TV show Combat. It has since remained in long term memory waiting for the recall trigger in this case, when Charlie99 mentioned Combat & that triggers the connection to Rick Jason.

Or maybe he simply remembered it for no other reason than he remembered it. :p

Thank you, bro. I am better at remembering names and faces than numbers.

Same with me, when Combat was mentioned, i just pictured Vic Morrow holding his tommygun on his hip first, followed by the actor's name. Memory triggers are normally in association/connection with something else that ties in with it. Interesting how the brain works.

A couple of months ago, spotted a familiar face in a hawker centre. Couldn't recall his actual name but could recall his nickname. Was a classmate in the early 70s.

Muthukali and Whoami may also remember the brown beetle that we use to catch from the wild mulberry leaves and rub it's body on the tarmac. We would later put it on the ground with its legs in the sky and see it buzzing around in circles.

The brown seed from the casuarina tree (the one that looked like a Xmas tree). We used to put this seed within our elbow to withstand the pain. Showing off to the gals. Haha......

Also the rubber tree seeds which we used to rub on the ground and then place that hot seed onto the skin of our friends.

The pod of the rubber tree seed that we join in two to become a propellor.

We used to go bicycLe shops curi some used tyres, cut them into rings of 2 x 50 cts coins size, poke a 2 inch naiL
through the middLe; go to wet market to choose the best taiL-end feathers, sun dried them before bounding them in 4's or 5's with sticky tapes at the base..there goes our captehs.

We stop doing that once we saw all the ShawBros kungfu films & we did Chinese style kungfu arm wrestling, each of us placed our leopard fists on table & push until someone couldn't take the pain & lost!

again this later graduated into placing a hot cigarette lighter against someone's skin, i still have the burn marks on my arms! KNN don't know which idiot started this:mad:

No need to thank me, memories of old Singapore are priceless! we should not forget such innocent times, the problem is trying to relay our experiences & stories to our kids, they'll look at you as if you're MAD!

Here's another game we used to play from the old days, take 2 matchsticks & put the matchheads together & wrap it tightly with cigarette foil, now hold one end & light the foil in the middle, the other end of the matchstick will blast off like a rocket!

But problem is where to buy match boxes now? I played this during my Pri sch days too:smile:
