Enough! No more money to be given to have more kids

The gahment have been pumping more monies, more incentives to get more people to get married and get more kids. I say enough is enough. Who is going to pay for this and why should these group of people get priority?? Are the rest of us supposed to pay more taxes, work longer to pay for these programs??

The PaP made a fatal error 30 years ago to get parents to stop at 2. Then they made Sinkies and Singapore to be such a pressure cooker society that people hardly have time to catch their breath much less have kids. Worse they allowed the education infrastructure from childcare to Primary to be either screwed up or pressurizing that's its a constant pain for parents. Now they want to throw money to fix the problem that they created in the first place. Well I am against giving more money to solve this problem. I have done my dues, raised a family with no help from this gahment. If today's kids don't want to get married and have kids, that's their problem! Don't use my taxpayers monies to fix it.

I have a relative who voted with his feet & left with his wife & a child. In Canada he added 6 more members to his family

He could never have done it if he had stayed on in Spore. I doubt he would have had the time, energy, money & space

Yeah these kind of social engineering affects generations. Imagine if we didn't stop at 2 then, we would have more adults then, and they would have kids and so on. If our fertility rate drop, we would see the affect maybe years down the road instead of now and we would have more time to fix the problem.

We should thank the govt for such good policy.

The low birth rates inspite of our much higher incomes today is a phenom that is palyed out in all developed countries, nothing to do with the govt.
We can never say costs are higher because our real purchasing power are much higher today than it was 30 or 40 years ago.
Even malays who earn much less than Chinese are having more babies so cost is not the issue but mentality of Chinese.

No, it was a short sighted & a biased policy.
The policy targeted at "lesser mortals" without degrees. Families with mothers who had degree were exempted.

You have to wonder who came up with this half-baked policy. Probably the old fart Any sociologist or economist could have told the PAP that populations will fall once people had jobs. This reality was being observed in other economies.

You have to wonder what they were thinking, back then Spore only had a population of 2+ million. Look at todays population of 5+ million

Yes Old fart made the call that caused us to be in this state 30 -40 years later. Actually we felt the effect end of 90s but as usual they tried putting scotch tape over the widening fissures and it became the full blown crisis today.
