You, or more precisely, the people of Singapore voted the government in. Unless your sentiments is of the majority they will continue to do whatever they want. If you want change, then change your environment. Or change the government that will have a more aligned view with yours. This is the nature of democracy.

Yes, we had problems with jobs and they paid 100 plus per month in factories back then.
And yes, they too had problems and ended up with high unemployments n low income today.

Spore was far from being a poor country & people wanted to come to Spore for a reason, to make $$$. It was the 4th busiest port in the world. In fact Spore had very strict immigration rules to keep people out.

I am not sure what our Opposition position is on this?? If they r also proposing to throw money at singles to get married and have children, I will also object!! By the way I never voted for MIW for the last 2 elections already.
That is the problem with Singapore's opposition. They don't make many issues, or statements about many popular issues. Its no wonder everyone seem to pick PAP every GE.

All they are concerned about is that there are not enough managers and workers for their hypothetical future grandchild's restaurant.
The happiness and well being of ordinary citizens and their families are not their priority and of course, they are not pumping in their personal money for the baby creation programme.

You sure you raised yours without help from others? Did you pay full hospital charges for delivery? How much school fees you paid for your kids? How about cheap healthcare back in the good old days? How much income tax you paid in the past as compared to what people are paying now? Last time no gst, now even milk powder and delivery also charge 7% gst, so how to account for this? Last time hdb flat only 3x of average annual household income, now at 10x. Cars too.
After you enjoyed both direct and indirect benefits in the past, now you want to pull the rug for future generation of parents and kids
