As I expected. CHC have to much money until they don't know how to use it wisely. Every year income more than $100million come from idiots. If have too much money need to donate. There are many better way eg. buy shoping voucher and give it to poor family/elder. That way they can use it to buy food and clothes. Not to the church spend million $$$$ to build church and the pastor all drive luxury car and live in private landed property.

This was revealed in a joint statement by the COC and the Singapore Police Force.

Agree, pastors like Kong Hee have probably forgotten their mission and role as a pastor when he starts enjoying the luxurious lifestyle. The main purpose of getting more people into the church is no longer to spread the words of God but rather to get more coffers into their accounts.
Luckily, not every pastors are like him.

TODAY on 27 May 2010 reported on the Public Accounts Committee report issued yesterday. Three main factors attributed to the significant number of audit findings:
1 laxity in procurement and contract management
2 lack of rigour in scrutiny by the approving authorities
3 too light a touch in ministry-statutory board dealings
If the government is serious in making sure that all the government departments/agencies are above board, it should also apply that high standard to private sectors, especially in not-for-profit institutions and charity organisations relying on public funds.
In the CHC saga (thrashed) thread, we uncovered significant "unusual" outsourcing of the church's activities to a few familiar names like CKW, KSN and starting from 2007 CEH. Xtron Productions was incorporated in 2003 with a S$3 paid up capital. It has not been profitable from day 1.
As at 31 Dec 2007, negative networth was S$5.9 million, funded essentially by a tranche of unsecured bonds (drawndown amount was S$7 million) outstanding of S$5.2 million and non trade payables (owing to third parties) of S$2.01 million. Note the funding of the company came essentially from third parties. In the case of the unsecured bonds, AMAC was involved in structuring the bonds, and I would not be surprised to find the buyers of the bonds are offshore entities at tax havens like British Virgin Islands, and Isle of Man.
On the asset side, essential items are deferred expenditure of $5.2 million, $1.9 million non trade receivables and cash of $0.5 million. Deferred expenditure was noted to "refer to producers' fees & recording expenses incurred in producing a music album which is expected to be launched subsequent to the balance sheet date". Again note the high non trade receivables.
Subsequent to balance sheet date, an additional S$14.5 million bonds were issued, obviously to buy a commercial property at R... for S$17.55 million. The shortfall of roughly about S$3 million should be financed by a loan from Standard Chartered Bank, as there is a charge filed at ACRA. According to what my friend told me, this commercial property is rented to an affiliate of the group.
Coming back to the music album, I find it a bit coincidental that here:http://www.konghee.com/www/2009/09/w...e-shallowness/, Kong Hee wrote that his lovely wife released a music video China Wine in 2007, as a result of a creative collaboration with the reggae wunderkind Wyclef Jean.
Lastly, the balance sheet for year ending 31 Dec 2007 was finalised only in mid 2009, 1.5 years after the actual closing. There must have been a lot of accounting issues to be agreed on. This is only the balance sheet description, and if this thread survives, we will see what more we could find out.
