Rex was big back then being in town was always hip and happening.....its peers were cinemas like lido Cathay orchard Capitol and odeon.
Old chang kee started there as was the mckenzie Malay chicken rice stall.

From ice skating rink to live threatre to hfj to indian disco etc.
Some associates of mine was going to turn it into a thai disco but deal fell thru.
