3) Nasi Goreng

4) Japanese-style fried rice

I had an Italian neighbour who asked me once how we make fried rice. I said to him we do not have a recipe, we just take whatever leftovers from the meals the last two or three days, mince and mix them, and fry them in a wok. He looked at me and said, that's exactly how he makes pizza too, just the leftovers, mince and mix them, scatter them over the dough, and into the over to bake. When I attended uni and had my meals at the dorm's cafeteria, they took the week's lefteover edibles, meshed them into stuffing, and baked them. It's called stretching the dollar.

Cheers!

No matter what type of fried rice, always add chilli padi in during the frying. That's what I always request when I buy fried rice outside (eg. zhi char stall).

Do you guys recommend using salt as one of the ingredient for cooking fried rice?
