China’s analogue AI chip could work 1,000 times faster than Nvidia GPU: study​

The device also uses less power than conventional computing while achieving accuracy similar to that of digital systems, researchers say​

Chinese scientists have created a superfast analogue chip that can solve complex maths problems for advanced scientific tasks and artificial intelligence (AI) while using less power than conventional computing, according to a paper published this month.

The analogue device designed by researchers from Peking University uses memory chips made of resistive materials. With future improvements, it could perform calculations at a processing rate 1,000 times faster than top digital processors, such as the Nvidia H100 graphics processing unit (GPU), according to the team.
“Precision has long been the central bottleneck of analogue computing,” the researchers said in a paper published in the peer-reviewed journal Nature Electronics on October 13.

1. No doubt, CHINA engineering at its best. However, a chip with mere 1000 times better than classical computers?

Such will be obsolete, they way their awesome looking EV cars looks like, filled with electronics, but within 3 years, buyers will realized maintenance issue will cost a bomb to keep it running, while the original manufactures would have made billions, close down the company to avoid recall issues, and enjoying the sun in some tropical paradise such as in Panama....

Looks like they have YET to realized the power of Quantum Chips.....

Quantum chips are a myth just like dependence on AI. You will be enslaved by mossad and CIA.

A EV will not require hefty servicing like ICE cars. Legacy ICE manufacturers took consumers for a ride selling cars without warranty. You want warranty, need to pay extra. Thousands more.

battery life now extended to 20 years on newer models. And electric motors are easily serviced with less wear and tear. No pollution,no noise.

Who is talking about EV batteries that needs servicing? An EV car is not just the battery alone, but thousands of components built into one car, far more complex than an ICE car.

EV is far less complex than ICE. You should see the amount of sensors in ICE cars. Pressure, temperature, flow, in every nook and cranny in order to meet and reduce emmission. I reckon a EV will not cause any problems after years of driving. Zero. That is why china car comes with all kinds of gadgets including coolers or food warmers. Massage chairs. Seats that warms and cools. Moon roof.multiple touch screens. You can sleep with air conditioning while camping in a EV but not in ice cars. Or use its electrical power for cooking or boiling water if its equipped with V2L socket.no issues moving in flooded streets.
Until quantum computer is workable, it remains a myth.

1. When one touches a button or touch an icon on a touch screen display to turn on the aircon, it is NOT by MAGIC that cool air comes out from the air vents in a car.

It is SEVERAL components that makes the aircon works - the chip, software, and the hardware - wires, actuators, springs, bearings, etc, the type of POWER used and the SOLID MECHANICAL DEVICES of an aircon.

No Human made device can last forever - due to wear and tear, poor operator diligence, or product MANUFACTURING fault.


2. There is NO DOUBT about an EV's battery ability, tested and proven in the West, for decades. It is the COMPONENTS - both software and hardware that may be questionable. with EVs made in China.


3.An aircon is a necessary item in every car - EV or ICE, and most drivers will know for sure that it does not last. Thus, just think about the other COMPONENTS in an EV car, which China touts itself as factory of the World, MADE in China.....not just wires, but SOLID MECHANICAL DEVICES - sunroof, lights, side mirrors, hi-fi players, car doors lock and unlocking systems, boot, etc, etc......

I remembered buying a sleek, cheap and awesome looking CD play years back. Within months it broke down. I took the CD player back to the shop, and the shop owner attempted to calm me down by playing a joke when I showed him the guarantee card, that reads - Guarantee no spoil. He said, in China, texts are read from right to left, which means - Spoil no guarantee.......sigh...

He took my cheap CD player and told me the cost of repair - which was the cost of CD player itself, as there were NO original manufacturer service center in Singapore, and he had to send it to a local technician to repair.....

Jokes aside, an EV car costs hundreds of thousand dollars of hard earned money to Singaporeans. When such SOLID MECHANICAL DEVICES, hardware or the software breaks down, will the buyer accept such defects and live with it, or to send it for repairs, and even if there are service centers here by the car makers, would they have sufficient parts made to replace it asap?

Do bear in mind, China boasts of selling MILLIONS of EV cars in China alone, thus think, how much of such spare parts would be available for overseas customers?


4. Make no mistakes, the insignificant nobody me do admire innovations, but it stop short at Marketing gimmicks to con buyers to buy certain products. A car is meant to travel from point A to point B.

Sunroof, automated settings on display screens, massage chairs, auto locking systems, etc, etc are just pure gimmicks and worse, such are made on contract by third party manufactures in China whom tool their machines to match and fit their products SPECIFICALLY for each and every different model of the car when the orders are in bulk. When the model evolves, spare parts would be limited.

There is LITERALLY NO STANDARD in China EV cars. Each car is different in EVERY way - from the opening of door, starting the engine, shutting down the engine, locking the door, they types of mechanical devices uses, and times, even the size of the car........

As there is no standardized functions of each model car, one may need to pay ENGINEER FEES, than techician/mechanic fees to maintain the car, let alone repair it....

It is fantastic that China engineers and marketeers are producing cheap EVs cars thru economies of scale with sleek and even futuristic designs with add-ons that can only be found in expensive continental cars as the labor costs are high and the quality control regime strict, giving the common people a chance to experience luxury and style...... but sadly, such will not last the way my CD player lasted....


5. My apologies for sidetracking on the issue of the MYTHICAL superfast analogue chip from China, that has yet to be seen in production, but only on so called research papers (from China?) But still I wish them all the best in their efforts. Each step made when acknowledged and corrected of errors is another step higher to evolution.....
