On the way back to the office, saw an 50+yo uncle and his wife carrying a big newstead carrier bag walking into level 3 newstead shop....hehe...poor uncle mus tbe tio chopped by newstead....hehe...

KNN, today at SLS all RAM prices increase liao by $1 - $3

Yes many RAM is imitation. But no problem to use. Since is cheap why not.
Imitation capacity maybe 10% lower.

genuine Kingston 2GB cost how much ?

Fake use no problem. There are 2 kind of memory.
One type is full capacity let said 2G then is will have at least 2G- more expensive.
Another type is 2G but capacity might be 1.9G may not get the full capacity. Use it also no problem.
RAM is the most lasting component in PC so will not damage anything. Normally MB give problem.
