It's been a known fact that VB has been somewhat disappointed in mcys as it's considered a "soft" ministry. Those that are and have worked with him knows he's meant for better things and is able to take on a "heavy-weight" ministry, faux pas on meals and yog budget nothwithstanding.
Agree that Lily does'nt quite cut it as parlsec or mos material although she happy being a b-bencher and is confortable doing what does at present.

This is the key. You don't have to be a MP to do social work. Unless you could push the agenda of getting PAP government to spend more on social welfare, it will not make a very difference at all.
