The old one still standing. Heng ah!

It's quite a remarkably resilient and even defiant stadium. Shortly after GE 2006, the government announced that NDP 2006 would be its last event, thereafter to be closed for demolition. Then came the Tiger Cup 2007 games, then came in 2008 the qualifying games for World Cup 2010. Then came Liverpool 2 months ago and turned it into Anfield for 90 minutes or so. Today, it's still there intact, after many "last" games.

its not a joke, its a typo error. its Goal 2100.

what a blardy joke. It should be Goal 2010 : for singaporee to at least get a world cup licence to at just watch it, not even partcipitate in it!!!!!!!!! even that I'm not sure whether that "goal" is achievable. What irony:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:.

Singapore soccer in the past ...
Quah Kim Song does an acrobatic feat by lifting himself off the ground to send in a scorching header in the fourth minute to give Singapore a bright start in last night's Malaysia Cup final.

To qualify for World Cup, Singapore needs to be able to beat the likes of Thailand, and beat or draw the likes of South Korea and Japan consistently over a two-year qualifying period.

Winter Olympics? Come on. Singapore is in the tropics. Don't they attend geography classes in secondary schools?

"Goal 2010" was conjured up by GCT when he was PM.
"Clean toilets" was conjured up by GCT when he was PM.
"More Good Years" was conjured up by GCT when he was PM.

Just decide for yourselves did any of the above succeed?

When they first announced publicly to demolish the stadium and a last game to be played there, they invited Prataman to grace this sentimental farewell to our national stadium. At match end, parts of the football field are dug up, sold in small pieces to fans for memories sake.

This was the first of the many "last games".

The only remote hope Leeapore has to play in the WC is if we and the Mats present a joint plan to host the WC, like Korea and Japan. WC has never been played in a Muslim coutry and its high time for them to do so. And Matland and us are the most safe of any other Islamic countries.

I think that's very true. Since SG govt is willing to spend a lot of money, the only way to enter the World Cup is to enter as hosts... but even then we will get thrashed 9-0 every game in the group stages. We will set the record for having the most goals conceded in the World Cup.
