In the old days who wants to grow up to be taxi driver? Of course taxi driver also can make a living for sure but that’s besides the point.

PHV got the attraction of pretend to be car owner. If dun have that PHV sticker I’m sure even more would jump into the trade. Having a car (regardless of own lease borrowed or what) figures very high in sinkies mentality.

If drive all day where got parking except for own home season parking. Petrol wash car repairs Dan all go jb. Compared to those PHV is a godsend for these losers. It’s not a manual job no need sweat or use labour. Sit down job in aircon no need to deal with boss or colleagues. No need be caught in public doing malu low level job. Just wear mask and sunglasses to hide face.

Many of them also dived in immediately to buy car to hao lian.

PHVs are required to display tamper-evident decals on their front and rear windscreens. These decals are meant to identify registered PHVs and curb illegal street hailing. Drivers who tamper with the decals or fail to display them, face fines or imprisonment.
