A man reportedly died after falling from the 18th floor of the Neptune Court condominium in Marine Parade and landing on a tree.
The incident happened on Jan. 29, 2024 at around 4:50 pm, reported Shin Min Daily News.
The police confirmed with the Chinese newspaper that a 46-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and that preliminary investigations ruled out any suspicion of foul play.
In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that they received a call for assistance at 2 Marine Vista at about 4:55pm.
An SCDF paramedic pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The man's 55-year-old wife was conveyed conscious to the hospital, the police added.
Wife ran to save husband
According to a resident who spoke to Shin Min, the wife's face was allegedly bloodied as she ran downstairs to her husband.
She was seen crying, Shin Min reported.
Resident heard loud bang
Another resident who spoke to Shin Min said she was home at the time of the incident and heard a loud noise.
She looked out of the window and found nothing unusual initially, she said.
"When I looked closer, I discovered that there was a foot sticking out from a tree downstairs. It turned out that there was a person hanging on the tree," she said.
Couple kept to themselves
Residents shared that the couple moved in about a year ago and rarely interacted with other residents.
Shin Min also reported that the man was a foreigner.
Investigations into the case are ongoing
