A 42-year-old man was fined S$4,000 on May 28, 2026, after he allegedly got into a fight with another man over a parking space in 2025.

Both men had reportedly been on their way to fetch their children from school, Shin Min Daily News reported.

Charges

The incident, which took place at about 1:50pm on Aug. 6, 2025, at Block 632A, Punggol Drive, saw one man's 80-year-old mother reportedly pushed down when she tried to mediate.

She supposedly suffered a fracture in her lower spine as a result, according to Shin Min.

The accused, Deng Yiwei, pleaded guilty on May 28 to one charge of disorderly conduct, Shin Min reported, adding that the judge fined Deng S$4,000 after taking into account another charge of criminal violence.

Parking space

At the time, Deng reportedly drove to the location before the incident to fetch his child from a primary school nearby.

Shin Min reported that another man, 58-year-old Lin Dexing, was also driving to the same location to fetch his son from school.

His daughter and 80-year-old mother were also in the car with him.

According to Shin Min, Deng, who arrived at a roundabout, reportedly saw Lin's car with its hazard lights on, also parked near the roundabout exit.

Deng then drove directly into an open space in front of a garbage bin and parked, after which he was said to have walked around Lin's car to pick up his child.

Shin Min reported that Lin, who claimed he had intended to back into the empty space, honked his horn and rolled down his window to question Deng upon seeing the parking space occupied.

Confrontation

When Deng reportedly ignored Lin, Shin Min reported that Lin allegedly reversed his car to block Deng's car, while his elderly mother went to pick up her grandson.

Upon returning with his child and domestic helper, Deng apparently found his car had been blocked and could not leave.

Deng, who believed that Lin was deliberately blocking his way, asked his domestic helper to bring his child to the ground floor of the block to wait.

This was so the child would avoid witnessing a potential conflict, Shin Min reported.

Later, when Lin's mother returned with her grandson, Deng reportedly began taking pictures of Lin's car with his phone.

After Lin's mother and son got into the car, Lin then parked it sideways behind Deng's car and allegedly got out to confront Deng.

Physical altercation, injury

Upon witnessing this, Lin's mother reportedly got out of the car and tried to mediate.

However, Deng allegedly pushed her shoulder, Shin Min reported, adding that she was said to have lost her balance and fallen to the ground.

According to Shin Min, medical reports stated that Lin's mother suffered a fracture due to the fall.

After seeing his mother injured, Shin Min reported that Lin became furious, and this resulted in a physical altercation between Deng and Lin.

Children shouted at men to stop fighting

Following this, Lin was supposedly pulled away by his mother, Shin Min reported, adding that children in the car were also said to have shouted at both men to stop fighting.

Deng then went to the primary school to get help from the security guards, according to Shin Min.

Both men were also said to have sought medical attention, as Lin was cut on his cheek after his glasses were reportedly broken, and Deng was supposedly scraped on his knee.

Defence's argument

In arguing that the one who allegedly provoked the incident and kept pursuing the matter was Lin, Deng's lawyer was of the view that Deng's culpability was low.

The lawyer had asked the judge to consider a S$3,000 fine, Shin Min reported.

In sentencing, the judge said that Deng had not only pushed an elderly woman to the ground, but had also fought with another person.

good'o days 1-to-1 bare knuckle fight and gentleman handshake after reduced to 恶人心告状,call police, play victim

if he were a 錦衣衞 (jin yiwei) instead of deng yiwei he would have easily subdued the other loser.

The next time you feel your ego's been hurt over something trivial like someone took your spot or cut your queue and you feel you want to fight to "reclaim your honour" don't be like this Deng Yiwei fool. *LOL*

Instead pause and consider if you're fighting because your life is in danger or your kid's life is in danger. No? Then just let it go and walk away.

Street fighting could mean having your life ruined if you beat up someone badly. Worst case scenarios? Killing your opponent or getting yourself killed, especially if knives come into the picture or someone falls head first on hard ground.

Fight only as a last resort because your life or your kid's life is in danger. Otherwise if you have the chance, just walk away.
