I’m against PAP primarily for their paper general / scholars as politicians system, ridiculously persecuting opposition and destroying their careers, failure in admitting mistakes, breeding a generation of overly paid but lousy bureaucrats. I’ll always vote for opposition to tell PAP the status quo is not acceptable. I don’t hate everyone of the PAPpies, don’t have particularly strong feeling against the 4G. I disliked the 3G more due to their arrogant and bullying nature such as BlackDogSham, NEH, TCH. And of course, it goes without saying, my biggest bone of contention is CECA. Having said that I’m satisfied with the overall living environment and civil service, especially the safe environment for children to grow up, can drive a nice car without fear of getting targeted (though I’m carless now)… and of course the ability to spend my SGD overseas.
In other words, Singapore is a place for the weak who just want comfort and safety, the strong and adventurous who dare to dream will find the country a little limiting.

Good points. The pap has deteriorated. If we dont do anything now to check them, what you enjoy now may be denied to your children or grand children. I can pack up and leave singapore and go to a better country, but what abt other singaporeans who are stuck here? So I will do my best to check the pap. I love Singapore.

One of the things my sister found tough was housework. Houses too big. Housekeeping services expensive due to minimum wage.

Unlike SG where you enjoy being able to hire dirr cheap foreign labor to literally do the shit work no one wants to do in Singapore.

Aiyah despite all the complainrs about the PAP for what....close to 20 plus years at this forum would you not agree that the net worth of most singaporeans over the past 20 years has increased?

Overall perhaps life is more crowded but still people have a good level of living in SG.

I agree with @LordElrond most of the unhappiness vs PAP is nepotism arrogance lack of free political speech high ministerial salaries with no moral compass etc.

But day to day bread and butter Singapore is doing pretty good.

I myself find it strange saying this to you as someone who left Singapore and regrets doing so.

They are blessed. High paying job. Low taxes. Cheap good food. Safe country. CPF. Increasinf property values.
